Heat Pump Cost in Illinois 2026
A typical whole-home ducted heat pump costs $9,500–$15,500 installed in Illinois in 2026 (statewide average ~$12,100). The federal credit is $0, the state’s $8,000 HEAR rebate has not launched, and the rebates you can actually collect today are utility discounts — up to $2,000 from ComEd, $900 from Ameren Illinois, $713 from MidAmerican — while electricity at 19.32 cents per kWh against gas near $1.09 a therm makes the running-cost math against a gas furnace the toughest call in this series.
